Departments

  • Public Administration Department (PAD) of Babes-Bolyai University, recognized by a ministry as having the best programs in the field of Romania, was created in 1996 by basis of international projects financed by the European Union (Tempus) and the United States. DAP was from the beginning an exception from the other schools of public administration in Romania, mainly as implemented with the support of Western partners, an interdisciplinary approach to the study of public administration. DAP currently has three lines of study (day and distance learning) in Romanian, Hungarian and German (the last two lines of study are intended to benefit minorities, which under the right to study in their mother tongue, want to pursue a career in government), unique situation in Romania so far.
  • There are two Bachelor programs functioning within the Department of Communication, Public Relations and Advertising: Communication and Public Relations, and Advertising respectively. The department, benefiting from the presence of a young teaching staff, promotes teaching methods based on a constant interaction with the students. In this concern, our students are encouraged to think freely, to be creative and to present their opinions using valid arguments. Also, since we live in a society where technology advances in an alert rhythm, the novelty and applicability of the communication styles, as well as that of the information to be offered, become fundamental principles and values.

  • The Journalism Department was founded in 1993 and is now part of the College of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. More specifically, the multidisciplinary team of the department works to provide an adequate response to the health problems of communities by developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs, research studies, behavioral and community interventions, and through development and analysis of public policies.
