I love staying in Cluj. I like the architecture of the city, the landscape around, the parks, the view from the place near Belvedere… I’m always happy when I cross its streets! It’s also a perfect city for students, with so many bars, clubs, cinemas, cheap and good restaurants, shoppings… The inhabitants are very nice, too; I remember my first week-end, everytime I had my map in hands, someone went to me to show me the way. The majority of people are very friendly!
Regarding the faculty, I like the relationship I have with the teachers. They’re very friendly, we have a relation from equal to equal, they respect the students and are very understanding. They create a good dynamic during the courses, we can have great discussions, brainstorming.
The major difference between this faculty and my faculty in Belgium is the way of giving assignments. In my faculty, we always have very precise instructions, „what-to-do” lists, … here we are more free, the instructions are more general and it’s up to us to make our work as we want to do it.
The relation I have with my colleagues is nice, but not exactly friendly. At the beginning, many students came to me to offer their help, but finally we didn’t become really close to each other. Some never speak English when I’m here, some are very nice… it depends from each individual. And I think that’s also my fault, maybe I spend more time with the Erasmus people, and the only course where I’m the only foreigner was on Monday morning and I’m not very sociable at that time of the week !
But my global feeling is very great, and I’ll recomend this Erasmus to all my classmates in Belgium!
