Starting with 1998, the College of Political, Administrative and Communications Sciences (FSPAC in Romanian) offers distance and part-time learning education programs, through the Center for Continuous Professional Development, Distance and Part-time Learning at the Babeș-Bolyai University.
Distance and part-time education is a mode of delivering education and instruction to students who do not have to be physically present in a traditional setting such as a classroom, offering them the opportunity to study from their own residence. Students included in this form of study receive the course materials and the bibliography for each course at the beginning of the semester, digitally – on CD, or later on, via email.
The College organizes four intensive classroom meetings for the students – two per semester. These meetings represent the direct communication between students and tutors. The meetings are, in fact, syntheses lessons based on the course materials. Except for these meetings, that are not mandatory, communication between students and tutors is done via email, the same as most of the evaluation methods.
In the case of distance and part-time learning, the teaching methods from the full-time form of study of each major are customized according to the needs and motivations of the students who participate in this type of learning; the curricula used in both types of education is identical.
Therefore, a student who enrolls in the FSPAC distance and part-lime learning programs will benefit from:
- A flexible and progressive online learning format;
- A collaborative learning environment;
- Immediate, real-world application;
- A variety of major options;
For distance learning education, our College offers accredited programs at bachelor level (BA) in the following areas:
- Public Administration
- Communication and Public Relations
- Political Sciences
For part-time education, our College offers accredited Master of Arts (MA) programs in the following areas:
- Public Administration
- Media Management
- Public Relations
For our entire BA (three academic years to attend) and MA (two academic years to attend) programs, the language of instruction and examination is Romanian.
Starting with October 2014, our faculty intends to convert its above mentioned programs into online learning programs.
Also, special attention will be paid to the prospective students from abroad; diaspora communities are encouraged to apply to our programs.
